Alnico magnets are permanent magnets composed of an aluminum-nickel-cobalt alloy, offering high magnetic properties, temperature stability, and moderate coercive force. Our cast Alnico magnets are formed through melting and molding processes, available in various grades with magnetization directions including axial, radial, and multi-poles.

  • High residual induction and energy product compared to ceramic materials
  • Low coercive force (more subject to demagnetization than ceramic/rare earth magnets)
  • Hard and brittle material - not suitable for conventional machining
  • Most common grades: Alnico 5 and 8
  • Not recommended for repelling or high friction applications
